Classify a Test Text

Once you have defined two or more text classes, you can define a test text for classification. A test text may consist of a single block of text, or of scattered passages across books. Unlike text classes which must each have a minimum of 200 verses, a test text can be of any size. The size of the test text however could have bearing on the confidence rating with which Tiberias classifies your test text. The larger the size of the test text the greater the likelihood that Tiberias will be able to classify it with a high degree of confidence.

How to classify a test text

  1. On the Experiment page, on the left pane under Text Classification, click Edit to select a test text that you want to classify.

There are three ways to select text for classification:

What do you want to do? Location Description
Define a new test text Tanach tab Select biblical texts from the drop-down menus at the left of the page.
    Select from Favorites Favorites tab

Select a test text you have previously defined and saved to your Favorites file.

You must have a Tiberias account to have a Favorites file.

Select a recently used test text Recent tab Select any of the last ten text collections (text classes or test texts) that you defined. These are saved for you even if you have not marked them as favorites. You must have a Tiberias account to have a Recent file.
  2. Click Classify Text to classify your test text and view the results

Results are displayed in the Text Classification page. For more details, see Text Classification Page.
